In so many words, Matt Cutts of Google recommends that ugly people stick to podcasts instead of video (check out the 34th minute of the presentation). OK, he didn’t *QUITE* put it in those words…
What he actually said was that if you are debating whether to do a podcast or put a video on your blog / website, you should put your picture up on HotOrNot. If you score above a 6, go with the video; otherwise stick with the podcast.
In reality, it’s probably pretty good advice… 
Take a few minutes to check out that video. It’s very entertaining and you can learn a few things about optimizing your blog from somebody at Google who collects a pay check for knowing this type of thing.
